Hawaii

(Part 1)
Last month Tim and I celebrated our 10th anniversary in Hawaii!!!! It was the trip of a life time!! Our second honeymoon! We'd been looking forward to this trip for years. After months of planning and P90X workouts the date finally arrived. Mom flew out so the kids could spend a "Week at Grandma's" (Did I say week? I meant month! :)
We flew into Honolulu and drove to the North Shore of Oahu where we stayed at the beautiful Turtle Bay Resort. That evening we went to a Luau and "The Breath of Life" show at the Polynesian Cultural Center. What better way to start your Hawaiian vacation then with a Luau... and the show was fantastic!

Visiting the PPC

The next day we went surfing!! I was terrified at first, but we had the best instructor, and I got up and actually surfed my first try!! Tim loved it, and wanted to go again the next day. We had so much fun! Tim and I can now say we've surfed the North Shore!

While at the PPC a Samoan gave a demonstration on coconuts. He told us that you want to pick the brown ones because they're the ones that are ripe.... like him. Then he went on to inform the audience that some of us were not ripe yet! If you take a close look at my surfing picture you'll find that I apparently am not ripe yet! :)

Hanging out on the famous Pipe Line Beach. The first swells of the season brought out all the local surfers. It was fun just to sit and watch.

This was our favorite breakfast stop!

The temple was beautiful!

It rained off and on the three days we were on Oahu. But when you're in Hawaii everything is perfect, even the rain!

We stopped to see Pearl Harbor on our way to the airport. Then we said Aloha to Oahu and island hopped over to Maui where we spent the remainder of our vacation. Stay tuned for part 2
Aloha!
