Bugs and Snakes!

Katelyn has started a new hobby... she has become a professional potato bug collector. Every day for the past week she has taken a little container outside and collected potato bugs. She enjoys watching them for the day and then before going to bed she very kindly lets them go. She loves drawing pictures of events that happen in her life, whether it's something small or life changing. It's her little version of a journal. The picture below shows her with her "potato bug farm" and a picture of it.

Last week I had a little visitor while I was out weeding my flower beds. I really don't mind snakes at all, but not when they suddenly appear out of no where and scare the crap out of you!! I didn't care to be surprised again, so I had to catch it. The girls enjoyed holding it awhile before we took it down to our horse pasture and let it go. Laura liked holding the snake, where as Katelyn would hold it for awhile and then quickly state that she was getting freaked out, and would I please take the snake from her!
