Do you ever get tired of telling (not asking, by that point I'm not in an asking kind of mood) your kids over and over again to finish up some chore you've asked them to do 5, 10, 15 min. earlier?
Just today, Laura spilled Katelyn's juice on the kitchen floor. It wasn't so much of a spill as it was a, let's knock this out of my sister's hand and see how much ground this beverage can cover.
I had to ask her several times to finish up her moping, I mean mopping before it was time to eat.
When I came back in to check on her progress I found the mop lying on the floor over a wet/semi sticky floor.
Oh to heck with it, I'll just finish it up myself. After all... how picky can you get with an almost five year old? Sarah was sitting in my living room and so I say to her, "I have a new theme song."
"What is it?"
I start singing... " If you want something done, then do it yourself..."
I say to heck with the life lessons you try to teach your kids... it sure is a lot faster to just do it yourself! :)
