Wake Up Call

I had a wake up call this morning. No it wasn't the kind of wake up call that gets you out of bed. This wake up call was aimed smack dab at my parenting skills. I was in the kitchen making breakfast burritos with two little helpers, Thomas and Laura. Those two kids love to try and help me cook. (Apparently they feel my cooking needs some help!)

Thomas, who is standing up on a stool, sees the eggs in the carton... "Egg." (He knows a lot of words, but he's a 'one word phrase' kid.)

"Egg."'

"Good job Thomas! Yes those are eggs."

Thomas then opens the egg carton, sees all the eggs inside and to my amazement... begins to count... "Uno, Dos, Tres....."

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not quite what I was expecting! I didn't know my baby could count! ... Let alone in Spanish! Where have I been?!

And here was my wake up call!!.... Apparently we spend way to much time watching 'Go Diego Go' and 'Dora the Explorer'!

ha! Too funny! Once when Dylan was about 2 he was falling off of my bed and shouted "ayudame!" which means help me in spanish. It was so funny! Luckily I knew what it meant and could go help him. Dora the Explorer!
