Farewell Fall

I love fall! The perfect temperatures, the beautiful leaves and colors, even the smell in the air. This particular fall seems to have lingered a much longer time then most; which is fine by me, because the one and only thing I dislike about fall is it has the nerve to go and drag winter right along behind it! Don't get me wrong... I like winter... right up until the day after Christmas, and then I could kiss it goodbye! (I am at the moment fighting the urge to put up a few Christmas decorations early, because I do love Christmas, and I'm getting really excited!) But I hate the cold! Already we've had a little taste of winter with a few minor snow storms. So the other day while the weather was nice the kids and I went out and picked up poop (when you have dogs it's a must do before you rake leaves intended for jumping in!) and raked the leaves into a pile and enjoyed what will inevitably be one of the last nice fall days of the year.
